What type of facial rejuvenation is performed at the Advanced Laser and Cosmetic Center?
Here at the Advanced Laser and Cosmetic Center, we achieve wonderful rejuvenation results with the Palomar Icon 1540, a premiere non-ablative fractional laser that corrects numerous skin flaws with minimal downtime, leaving skin looking more youthful and refreshed. The Palomar Icon 1540 works by delivering light energy to the skin. This energy penetrates deep into the dermis where it creates narrow, deep columns of skin coagulation, surrounded by healthy, untreated skin. This promotes quick and natural skin repair, stimulating the production of new collagen to rejuvenate the skin from the inside out.
What specific flaws can be remedied by this procedure?
Our facial rejuvenation treatments, using the Palomar Icon 1540, gives skin an overall rejuvenated, youthful look, as well as, reducing the appearance of:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Scars, including acne scars
- Pigmentation issues, such as brown spots
- Skin tightening
- Melasma (dark-patterned facial pigmentation)
What should I expect during and after my treatment?
Facial rejuvenation is typically performed with the use of a topical numbing cream, applied about an hour prior to treatment. The treatment itself will take between 30 and 40 minutes. Afterward, ice is applied, followed by sunscreen. Initially, your skin will appear pinkish, similar to a mild sunburn. There may also be some minor swelling and flaking. This is all part of the normal healing process and will last between 5 to 7 days.
When can I expect to see results?
A majority of patients begin to see positive results after their first treatment. However, most individuals will enjoy optimum results with a regimen of 3 to 5 sessions, scheduled 3 to 4 weeks apart. Once you’ve completed your final treatment, improvement will continue to progress for several months as collagen continues to remodel.
