Advanced Laser and Cosmetic Center, with locations in Sharonville, Cincinnati, Ohio and Centerville, Dayton, Ohio, offers a full scope of the latest and best injectables for eliminating the appearance of facial wrinkles, including the new Xeomin®.
What is Xeomin?
Xeomin is the latest product approved by the FDA to reduce or prevent frown-causing muscle movement. Like BOTOX® and Dysport, Xeomin is made from purified botulinum type A and injected into facial lines to relax the muscles that allow for the formation of such wrinkles as frown lines and crow’s feet.
What facial lines can Xeomin treat?
We use Xeomin to erase the appearance of:
- Frown lines
- Worry lines
- Low brows
- Neck bands
Is the procedure painful?
The needles used to administer Xeomin are extremely thin, so pain is not typically an issue. For those who are particularly sensitive or have a fear of needles, however, a topical anesthetic can be applied before treatment to ensure comfort.
What results can I expect?
For some, Xeomin results appear almost right away and continue to improve over time. For others, results take 2 to 3 days after treatment to become visible. These benefits last about the same amount of time as BOTOX or Dysport, which is 3 to 6 months. Then a refresher treatment is needed.
How does Xeomin differ from BOTOX and Dysport?
The main difference is that Xeomin does not contain certain proteins that the other products do. Xeomin’s manufacturing process removes these. As a result, Xeomin is effective for the small number of patients, for whom BOTOX and Dysport are not. Those products no longer work for a minority of patients who have used botulinum toxin for an extended length of time. Also, for some the effects of Xeomin appear more rapidly than they do with BOTOX or Dysport, but that’s not the case for everyone.
Why should I choose Advanced Laser Care for my Xeomin treatment?
We are among the most experienced professionals using Xeomin in this area. And like Botox and Dysport, Xeomin is an administer sensitive procedure. To avoid those shiny forehead ripples or that frozen look, you want a specialist who knows both how and how much Xeomin to inject.
